Chinese polylactide project has been built

Current production of polylactic acid in China is still its infancy, has built a production line rarely, and a smaller scale. Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Calcium lactate production technology has made a breakthrough. The institute cooperation with enterprises, already has 30 tons / year production capacity, plans to expand production reached 5,000 tons / year. Currently, the company has undertaken to polylactic acid as raw material products development, some of the products exported. PLA structural formula - [-C-CH-O-] n-, is a linear aliphatic thermoplastic polyester, a polymerizable monomer is lactic acid or lactic acid dimer (lactide). Recent years due to environmental requirements and technological advances produced by fermentation, lactic acid produced by fermentation has been used mainly. Production of lactic acid by fermentation many materials available, such as natural buffered lactic acid (such as starch, cellulose, etc.) and some industrial wastes available. Thus, the production of lactic acid fermentation not only saves non-renewable petroleum resources, reduce costs, but also improve the market competitiveness of PLA.
